The poetry of Parnia Abbasi, a young Iranian woman murdered by the IDF.
Thanks for doing this Ali jaan.
خواهش می کنم, Inshallah your loved ones are safe 🙏🙏
Thank you. 🙏🏻
You're welcome, I hope I can continue to share their stories when they come to light
Stat rosa pristina nomine,
nomina nuda tenemus.
😢
The worst thing, as you say, is damnatio memoriae. This is what we all need to fight against, everywhere, as a decentralized network of remembrance.
Beautifully worded, my friend! I hope we can all play a part in bolstering stories that would otherwise be forgotten.
Thank you my friend for sharing this precious precious poem. I wish I had known her
As do I, though her words will live on 🙏
As an Iranian, thank you for writing about this
You're most welcome Ava, I'll do my best to continue sharing their stories.
It's a beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing Parnia's words.
You're most welcome :) I'm not usually a fan of free verse but her poetry really is stunning.
Hello Ali! Is it OK with you if I put Parnia's poem into my newsletter, attributed to her and credit to you of course.
Hey Alison, absolutely! The more people that read her poetry, the better.
Thanks! I thought so but I wanted to check. It will appear here very soon: https://encanterram.substack.com/
💔 Thank you for sharing. We need to keep such truths alive as they deserve.
Absolutely! If we cannot aid the oppressed in person, then the least we can do is preserve and share their stories.
What a beautiful poem! Thank you for sharing ❤️
I'm really glad it resonated with you ❤️
Subhanallah, last Wednesday, with the Writers Hour with Huda, I decided to write a poem about Parnia 🌻 she did touch so many souls. May her soul rest in eternal peace 🌻🥺
It's beautiful to see that you've made her eternal in your own way. May Allah (swt) have mercy on her soul and the souls of all the martyrs.
Thank you for sharing.
